Technology Donation Boosts Child Find's Ability to React, Respond to Missing Children Cases

Leads Software Inc. and Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co. today announced a technology donation to Child Find organizations in Canada, non-profit groups that assist in the search for missing children across the country and around the world. The donation of advanced technology and specialized software is intended to help Child Find better manage its caseload and more effectively link with search and law enforcement agencies throughout North America.

The donation consists of more than $900,000 worth of equipment, including servers, PCs, storage and LEADS software. This technology will be used to update Child Find's data files from paper to electronic storage, thereby allowing photos, audio, evidence, witnesses and tip records to be managed and maintained through a comprehensive relational database.

"This donation will improve our operational efficiency and our ability to share information with other agencies," said Eric Sommerfeldt, executive director, Child Find Alberta. "There is no question that when a child goes missing, the speed with which we are able to help all authorities respond, and the quality of the information we are able to privide, is key. The software provided by Leads Software Inc., has already allowed us to increase our caseload. Now with the HP technology coming on stream, we will see an enhanced ability to take on cases, and therefore to find more missing children and intervene in more child prostitution, pornograph and drug dependency cases than every before."

Leads Software supports Law Enforcement organizations from small agencies to large multi-jurisdiction environments across Canada, LEADS provides a robuts international solution for information capture, control, dissemination and retrieval.
